Ice Cream on Sunday
Shelley and I spent aobut 4 hours along the River Walk in Savannah, GA. yesterday afternoon. Octoberfest was the happening thing with booths, music and lots of food. We found these young ladies working on some ice cream and asked if I could take a photo. The young lady on the left was so involved, she did not answer me. She just kept on eating. Can’t blame her.

Someone's Butts
I’m getting better in overcoming fear when approaching people for a photograph. I’m also getting used to the strange looks from people as they try to figure out what I’m photographing. Case in point is the above image. While walking out of a large store I noticed this rock ash tray outside the doors. I walked around it, knelt down on one knee and fired off one shot. There was a post nearby so I needed to move a little to the right and tried a shot there. Don’t you wonder what’s going through the security officers head as he watches? And, what about those who just drove into the parking lot and decided to come back later when the strange guy had left. I know this is not a pretty subject but it is one we walk by all the time and only glance at it. A simple image of someone’s butts.

Changes: In our lives
Nature goes through the seasons of changes. In early autumn, in response to the shortening days and declining intensity of sunlight, leaves begin the processes leading up to their fall. The veins that carry fluids into and out of the leaf gradually close off as a layer of cells forms at the base of each leaf. These clogged veins trap sugars in the leaf and promote production of anthocyanins. Once this separation layer is complete and the connecting tissues are sealed off, the leaf is ready to fall. The end of one season.
We to, go through changes every day of our lives. I am also going through changes in my life. I am getting another roommate as my other roommates have new base assignments. There is the chance I may also move in the next few months.
As the leaves change colors and fall from their branches during the autumn season it reminds me of the changes in my life. I look forward to both the fall colors and changes that will transpire in my life. How about you?

Your True Self

Solitude and Community
Solitude is important in my life. Community is important in my life. Time alone nurtures my inner spirit, clears out the cobwebs, and heals. Yet, spending time with others also nurtures my spirit, helps me see life through others eyes and community also heals. Spending time alone shooting photographs helps me become a better photographer. Shooting with and sharing experiences with fellow photographers helps me become a better photographer. Why shouldn’t I embrace both solitude and community.
