    Blank Pages

    Blank Pages

Blank pages and empty flash cards seem to be way too common in my life these days. Yes, I can blame it on the move and adjustments being made in my life but I think there is more to it than that. Ideas come to mind for both images and writing but they do not seem to take on a life but stay in a state of limbo. Journaling has always been a way for me to find my way to the next stage of life. So, blank pages are being filled and the camera is taking more walks.

    The Bench and Shadows

    The Bench and Shadows

Taken on an afternoon walk in Oklahoma City. We had a beautiful sunny afternoon, temperatures in the 60’s and late afternoon shadows which, my friends, is an invitation to take the camera for a walk. Afterwards, I met the two pilots for hot wings and a refreshing lemonade at Hooters for dinner. Life is good!

    Opened Gate

    Opened Gate

This opened gate caught my attention while on a walk along the Spokane River in Spokane, WA. I played around in Lightroom to get the feel I wanted. After a few days of cold, below zero temperatures, and snow, the sun is out and things are suppose to warm up. Hope everyone has a great day.

    35,000 feet

I apologize for not keeping up on this blogging thing, both posting and responding to them. I blame it on a busy life but we all have some business in our lives. I also apologize for this image, at least the quality of it. I took this one out the back window of our aircraft using my cellphone, as we flew over the snow covered mountains of Idaho or Wyoming, really not sure.

I am sort of settle in Colorado. I have my car unpacked and am now camped at my sisters, which is awesome! I will probably be there for the month of February and possibly March. It does feel good to me to know I am going back to my condo once the renter has moved out. I’ve missed family, friends and Colorado weather, which includes the snow and cold as well as the sunshiny days. So, this is one of my office views. It changes all the time.

    Almost Home

    Cold Morning Sunrise

They opened I70 across Missouri yesterday morning. First time they have closed the interstate from border to border. I hit the road running along with thousands of semis. Spending two days in a hotel was not my idea of a good time. I must admit the hotel was wonderful and even gave me a discount rate on the second night (and no it was not a senior discount). Had a tough time digging my car out and almost could not open my doors due to ice. They did an awesome job cleaning the interstate across Missouri and Kansas. I did find far more cars and trucks buried in ditches than I expected. I finally stopped after 13 hours of driving but only after I had entered Colorado. Spent the night in Burlington, CO and will head to Denver in just a minute and drive straight to the airport. I have some paper work to get started for badges and parking permits then some quick training this evening. I hope to be at my sisters by 9:00 this evening. Oh, I was given a gift last night of watching a beautiful sunset near Lawrence, Kansas. And, it is true, they do have more stars in a Kansas sky. I’m almost home.

    Not Heading West

Parked and waiting out the storm

… or anywhere today! In fact nobody is going anywhere as I70 is now closed. Blizzard conditions, blowing snow and cold temperatures, are the culprits. In the above image you can see some of the trucks parked at the TA. Some are camped in their trucks and some have wandered in to the cafe for food and conversation. The blizzard is roaring now as the freezing rain that left ice everywhere is now being covered in a beautiful layer of white snow. The worst of the snow fall is west of here so that gives me hope I can get out of here tomorrow.

I had a couple of neat things happen today. Someone I worked with years ago contacted me on Facebook to let me know she and her husband live close to where I’m at. As it’s too nasty to be out, we picked up the phone and had a wonderful conversation. I also received a response to my weekly email to family and friends back in Colorado and discovered Mike and his wife, Ing, are stranded at the St. Louis airport. So we picked up the phone and chatted a while. So close but yet unable to meetup.
