A good hat will protect us from the heat of the sun and therefore keep us cooler. A good hat will also make a cool subject for an image.

Waiting
We are a microwave culture. Waiting is not quality many of us have. While sitting at the bus stop in San Antonio I noticed this couple patiently waiting for the bus. They were not in a hurry and few words were said between them. They stood in the shade of the small tree and waiting. I found their patience calming. Not sure about you but I could use more patience.

Working Hard
This is Sky, my sisters cat, working hard at being a cat on a hot day. 🙂 And, so am I as I head back to the skies for another trip. Unfortunately, for me anyway, only the passengers get a chance to do this on the aircraft.

Lesson Learned
A look back to 2004 and some images from a motorcycle tour. I enjoyed this trip, camping just outside of the park and spending my mornings and evening exploring the park looking for images. This trip was made during my first year shooting with a digital camera. Lesson learned: shoot RAW rather than JPG. Have an Awesome weekend!

Storm Clouds
Last night the skies began to darken as clouds rolled in from the west. Before long a deep rumble could be heard and flashes of lightening lit up the skies. I stepped onto my balcony and was greeted with a very bright flash and clap of thunder as the skies opened and a severe storm raged through our area. Mans concrete and asphalt drainage systems were no match for incoming water so flooding was everywhere. Â What an awesome show of natures power. The last two evenings have produced storms. I took these images two nights ago as I drove east about 40 miles in pursuit of cloud formations.

Colors of San Antonio
I spent the 4th of July walking along the San Antonio River in San Antonio, also known as the River Walk. We enjoyed ourselves by people watching, window shopping, taking a boat ride, stuffing ourselves with Mexican food yet leaving room for ice cream and enjoying the colors. No fireworks this year due to the dry conditions.

Eye Contact
“…it all comes down to the same thing. You can’t make anything happen, you just have to be ready when it does.”
Andrew VachssSome subjects cannot be posed. Our task is to be there and be patient with our subjects and ourselves.
