As I walked out of Lory Student Center I noticed the back lit grasses and made another attempt at capturing and image I’d like. I have not been pleased with my images of back lit grasses but this one I’m pleased with.
My online journal sharing interests in photography, nature, coffee life, journaling, fountain pens, bicycling, spirituality and asking deep questions.

I encountered this 6 inch tall snowman last week at campus. Wonder what his name should be and where’s his/her hat?
Have a great week!
Walked to a coffeehouse last week to meet a friend for a cup of coffee and their breakfast enchiladas. 🙂 The temperature was somewhere between 25 and 30 degrees (F). I am still surprised how many people in Fort Collins ride bicycles in all sorts of weather. They just gear up for whatever nature brings on. I’m actually envious of their commitment to riding.
This is the side of a metal building someone has painted a mural on. It is massive in size and depicts a couple of hummingbirds that must be 10 feet tall. I am standing along the path leading to the bus stop and can’t step back any further. It was the abstract essence that called me when standing this close. Bright colors!
As I arrive at Mugs coffee house there are about six large trees along the sidewalk. Some of the college students who live along here will put food out for the squirrels. I have seen as many as 4 and 5 chasing each other around the trees making it fun to watch. Needless to say they are more than comfortable with humans and will come quite close. This one paused long enough to make sure I kept my distance and did not cross the line they had drawn.
Alan Watts says, “Normally, we do not so much look at things as overlook them.” I like to think my years looking through a viewfinder, being more aware, awake, enlightened or whatever you call it has helped to not overlook as often.
A couple images from yesterday’s snowfall. We received about 4 inches and now have to deal with the cold.
