    Coffee With a Friend

    Three Brothers
    Three Brothers

I met my friend Pat at Bindles Coffee yesterday morning. It had been a while since we had coffee and conversation. We usually catch up on our lives, the kids and grand kids and show photos. I consider her a good friend for many years. We agreed we need to meet more often, and will.

While we were there these three young guys came in with their mother. Each had an apple with big bites in each of them. I consider that a good thing. Thanks for meeting up with me, Pat, and enjoy your week off. See you in a couple weeks.

    Signs of Spring

My creative process begins when I get out with the camera and interact with the world. A camera is truly a license to explore. There are no uninteresting things. There are just uninterested people.

    Jerry Uelsmann

The above quote is one reason I take my camera for walks. My last post was a sunset from my friend Kay’s back porch. As I watched the sun drop below the clouds and just above the mountains, I figured there could be a nice sunset so I grabbed my camera out of my backpack. Kay made some remark about having my camera. Yes, it is almost an appendage. Maybe I need to refer to the camera as a friend. Anyway!

We are expecting showers this afternoon and need the moisture. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

    Old Typewriter

    Old Typewriter at Wolverine Press

It’s raining.  Well, it’s actually misting. Well, that’s not really either true, it’s more like high humidity where you get wet by just standing there. Anyway it is refreshing!

One of my favorite coffeehouses in town is the Bean Cycle. It used to share space with a used book store and printing press company called Wolverine Farm. Within the past year, they moved to a new location of its own. It is a place for local authors and poets to sit and write, have a coffee, connect with other writers and have their work published. This past week I stopped by and discovered they had four older typewriters that customers could use. Just bring your own paper. I’m tempted to bring some paper and plunk away as its been a few years since I used one.
