“The art of life is to live in the present moment and to make that moment as perfect as we can by the realization that we are the instruments and expression of God himself.”

Sunrise on Weld County Rd 13
“For me landscape seems to be important for contemplation; anyway I have no scruples about it.”
Thomas MertonI could easily change the word landscape to nature in the above quote simply because it resonates with me better. Anyway, I have no scruples about it.

Belonging
“True belonging is the spiritual practice of believing in and belonging to yourself so deeply that you can share your most authentic self with the world and find sacredness in both being a part of something and standing alone in the wilderness. True belonging doesn’t require you to change who you are; it requires you to be who you are.”
Brené BrownA friend shared with me yesterday how they have reached a place of true belonging to themselves and have moved away from a place of needing to fit in. Now that is powerful!

Sunset at McMurry Natural Area
“It is the duty of the human understanding to understand that there are things which it cannot understand…”
Søren KierkegaardWe are a culture that does not want to admit or even think we don’t understand. I’m becoming much more comfortable with setting aside my pride and say, “I don’t understand.” And there are those moments when I must pause and question myself “…what if what I think I think I know, ain’t so.” Then go for a meditative walk with my camera and just take pictures.

Looks Different Today
..amateurs worry about equipment,
Vernon Trent
professionals worry about money,
masters worry about light,
I just take pictures…Took this a week ago while on a walk at Reservoir Ridge Natural Area. Looks very different this morning, it’s snowing. I imagine this was one of the last days of full fall colors for this year. While yesterday was misting most of the day then rain and light snow through the night. I imagine the mountains have more snow. They are predicting this to continue through the day and into tomorrow. May you have a great week and take a few pictures!
