The Road Not Taken
I shall be telling this with a sigh, Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I – I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.
Robert FrostI’m off again on a trip. See ya later.

The Solution Is
The solution of the problem of life is life itself.
Thomas Merton
Life is not attained by reason and analysis but first of all by living.Over the past few years my idea of “living life” has changed. I have been working at spending more time in nature, respecting nature and all life forms, spending time with family and friends, laughing at myself and others, taking more risks, walking my own paths, worrying less, learning to accept others views, traveling, photography, maintaining my health, being grateful and, of course, watching sunsets.

What’s That Smell?
When I take Prospect Rd east and pass over the interstate I find myself in farm land and pastures. Beyond that about 20 miles will be the open plains area with grass, yucca plants and cactus. Anyway, just the other side of the interstate there is a farmers field where I usually see sunflowers. However, this year he planted something different. As I drove by a few days ago there were several works out there placing what I thought were potatoes in burlap sacks. I thought it would make for an interesting image so I stopped to take a few shots. After stepping out of the car my nose let me know these were not potatoes but onions. Whew! Needless to say a half dozen images was plenty then moved on. 🙂

Sunday’s Walk

What an awesome day we had this past Sunday. After rain on Friday and Saturday everyone in town headed out to a park or trail. My choice was the Environmental Learning Center that follows along the Cache la Poudre River. The river actually spits in this area and creates a rather large island that supports native plants and plenty of wildlife. I sauntered along the Wilcox trail enjoying the warmth and quiet. As I had signed up for the photo-walk on Saturday but did not make it, I made Sunday my own photo-walk, sorta like Paul did. I had a good time.

I’ll Go Back
I had coffee at a small locally owned coffee shop called Cuppy’s yesterday morning. I had them adjust my latte by reducing the amount of mocha they put in it and found they did a good job. I found the shop to be inviting, comfortable and most importantly quiet. I can read and write in there very easily. I did have these two characters sitting on the table next to me but as I said they were quiet. I’ll go back.

With Power
The leaf seems out of place but because of that it adds power to the image of rain drops on the car. It shouts louder to me than if it were lying on the pavement or grass. I quickly compose and move on. Once I see the image on my monitor I realize how much power it has for me. So simple but with power. Please enjoy your Sunday and sorry for posting another leaf image but they’re everywhere.

A Cold, Frosty and Foggy Morning
For man, autumn is a time of harvest, of gathering together.
Edwin Way Teale
For nature, it is a time of sowing, of scattering abroad. Most photographers think of the Fall season as an opportunity for capturing the changing colors of the trees or watching leaves as they flutter to the ground. It is also the season for harvesting and preparing for the coming of winter as well as a time when our mornings turn colder, frost turns the landscape a pale shade of white and fog delays the warming rays of the sun. To me that’s a good time to be out with a camera in hand.

Seeing as a Child
“It is part of the photographer’s job to see more intensely than most people do. He must have and keep in him something of the receptiveness of the child who looks at the world for the first time or of the traveller who enters a strange country.”
Bill BrandtI do need to be more of a child when experiencing this world of ours.
