This image was taken in the early afternoon at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal. The moon had risen about an hour earlier and the sun is just setting behind me. Even though the deer within the refuge are protected and accepting to us visitors, they always seem to keep a wary eye on us. If we were to study animals more we would see how adaptive they are to the world around them while man seems bent on changing the world around him.

Watching
A doe checking me out last week at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal MWR. Even with no hunting on the refuge the wildlife always keeps a close eye on us, usually seeing us before we see them. Hope everyone enjoys the coming week!

Working Hard
This is Sky, my sisters cat, working hard at being a cat on a hot day. 🙂 And, so am I as I head back to the skies for another trip. Unfortunately, for me anyway, only the passengers get a chance to do this on the aircraft.

Sunbathing
I was doing somethings on my laptop in the lounging chair and happened to look down to see Willow basking in the morning sun. You know a cat sure has a tough life. 🙂

The Look
Some subjects do not want their photo taken of them. In the image above my sisters cat Willow, is giving me that annoyed look as I take practice shots of her. This has come about with the purchase of the Canon Powershot G12. Yes, a point and shoot. I have been looking at buying one for quite some time and finally weakened enough to lay out the cash for it. I’ve never owned a point and shoot but so many of you seem to like the options they offer. I plan on using it while I fly, making it so much easier to pack and carry than my DSLR is. I chose the G12 since they no longer have the S90 in production and the S95 and G12 were almost the same price. I also could not afford the M8. 🙂

Hunkered Down
Staying with the theme of the wintery weather we are experiencing in much of the country, I decided to post this image. When winter storms bring cold temperatures and snow begins to fall, we crank up the furnace, put on layers, start a pot of chili, drink hot chocolate and sit by the fire. Rabbits don’t do that. Hope everyone stays warm. 🙂
