Letting Go
Window Light at Wild Boar Coffee “Left to its own devices, my mind spends much of its time having conversations with people who aren’t there.” Anne Lamott
As, Anne Lamott suggests, we can have some strange conversations in our heads. What is troublesome is when we begin to believe these people and conversations exist. They are not reality so it’s important for us to take a few deep breaths and stay present to the moment. Let go of these unreal thoughts.

Morning Shadows With Coffee
There are images everywhere as long as we stay present, are looking, are receptive and hopefully have a camera. This was given me at Mugs coffeehouse. Love the early morning shadows and light with artwork from a local artist.

It’s Cold This Morning
We are cold this morning, -6 at 6:49 am. The sun is shining and we have clear blue skies. I took this image of the bicyclists at about 7:30 as I walked into the Lory Student Center on campus. I find it amazing the courage they have to ride in the cold, snow and icy conditions. Not me! Young people in Colorado don’t seem to mind the cold but I do. That, or I’m a bit wiser.
“I didn’t go to kindergarten, so I missed ‘show and tell’ when I was young. I’m making up for it now! I look for essence of the subject and try to show it in a different way, whether it’s Antarctica or a monarch butterfly…” – George Lepp

Dragons on Campus
Dragons at the Behavioral Science Building “Within the stillness of meditation we see the unreality of thought.” Jack Kornfield
It’s 10 degrees right now with about an inch of powdery snow and more to come. I took this image last week on campus. I’m a supporter of graffiti that can easily be removed.

Calling My Attention
An Empty Bench I took this image last Sunday morning during our little snow storm. We received about 4-5 inches and still have some on the ground as temperatures have been staying cold. Directly behind and across the street is a student housing building where Mugs coffeehouse is located. After my morning mocha I walked over to campus to enjoy the falling snow, to get in a bit of exercise and possibly find an image. I have several images of this bench, finding it’s solitude calling my attention. I cannot remember ever seeing anyone sitting on this bench. However, today it’s pretty obvious why it’s empty.
