Colorado has cold and snow but it is also known for it’s sunny days, about 300 days of the year, and a great reason to live here. The past three days have been filled with clear blue skies and plenty of sunshine, along with cold temperatures. Winter is also the time of year for long shadows which allows for images such as this one. It was taken on campus near Morgan Library on Monday.

Just guessing, but …
Yesterday morning we awoke to clear blue skies and sunshine. Loved it! I took the bus to the transit center then came across this scene while walking across campus. Since it had two of my favorite subjects, a bench and shadows, a photograph needed to be taken. One thing in this image that speaks to me is the solitude because it is a part of my life. Interesting how there are tracks around the pond but nowhere near the bench. I’m just guessing, but thinking it’s due to the 23 degrees.

Filled With Gratitude
A Look and Feel of Winter Not many photographs lately as the inspiration to frame and press the shutter button has not been there. I still see the scenes and look for them. This was taken back in early November near one of my coffee shops.
I’m now sitting in a coffee shop after a busy Saturday. It’s been a day to connect with both family and friends so not much solo time, a different experience for me. But, there is a contentment within me. This past week has been a time to reflect on my life. There have been no extraordinary moments or life changing events to talk about, just life as it happens. It has been a good year so I am filled with gratitude for the life I have. May this coming year bring joy, peace, good health into your life. Thanks for being a part of this blogging life.

Lines and Shadows
Pergola on the back patio. Whenever my sister, Sheree, and I go down to visit at Thanksgiving our dad always had some pre-cut piece of wood for us to carve. so, we sit on the back patio and carve to our hearts desire. I think I took a similar image like this last year so I apologize if it looks similar.

Wall Graffiti
Colors and Patterns This is the side of a metal building someone has painted a mural on. It is massive in size and depicts a couple of hummingbirds that must be 10 feet tall. I am standing along the path leading to the bus stop and can’t step back any further. It was the abstract essence that called me when standing this close. Bright colors!

Morning Shadows at the Table
A photograph is not an opinion. Or is it?
Susan SontagMore lines catching my eye but the first thing to draw me was the light. Love morning light and this was all about the light! The color of the light was lovely but my camera washed out the highlights, nor could I seem to find anything to please me with Lightroom. Finally converted it to black and white in Silver Efex and was then a happy camper. It tickles me and causes a smile.
