“If the person you are talking to doesn’t appear to be listening, be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear.”
A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh

Zig Zaggy
This image is a “zig zaggy” alley behind a building in Old Town. What you see in the center is a mural on this massive wall depicting people from the town: local celebrities, local entertainers and more. The glare distorts the mural and along with the dark shadows gives it a mysterious feel. I thought it was a good scene given to me to enjoy and hoping you would also.

Shadow and lines
eyes of the heart
ms
accepting the gift offered
shadow and linesSunny, windy afternoon walk with my camera in Old Town this past weekend. Not much time on the streets this past year, preferring to spend my time within nature. Shadow and lines was the gift received this day. It is 10 degrees this morning, overcast skies and a snowflake
is seen every once in a while. Stay warm!

With the Rhinoceros
leaving my condo, had a glimpse
ms
of pink clouds on eastern sunrise but,
chose instead a mocha latte in a comfy chair
sat with morning sunshine and shadows
watched over by the rhinocerosI experienced the flu like symptoms of the Pfizer vaccine yesterday afternoon. So, I went to bed around 8:30 pm and slept like a baby. One of the best nights of sleep I’ve had in quite some time and feel really good this morning. As I left the condo there was no way I would make it to the natural area in time to capture the pink clouds and thus settled on the comfort of the local coffee shop with the rhinoceros.

Because I Am
snowstorm has passed
ms
now clear skies and sunshine
bench in cold shadowsSlept in late so I got out late. Headed to Rolland Moore Park for a few winter images. I’m always a sucker for solitary benches and found one. Roads are icy this morning. So, I drive according to what I consider safe (slower than others). I am aware I can irritate some drivers who think I drive like an old man. But, that’s okay because I am!

expressing gratitude
morning sun enters through my window
ms
warms my soul with its abounding grace
grateful and blessed for this life I live
filled with love of family and friends
solitude and silence the foundations of my life
it’s the staff I need to walk through life
raises me up when I fall, again and again
where I discern my chatter from your words
prayer and meditation my daily practice
a lifeline to grasp when I begin to wander
lifting the spirit when life weighs heavy
opens a door to knowing beyond thinking
it’s been said that if the only prayer we say
is thank you, that would suffice
so I’m thankful for this wonderful life
happy thanksgiving to you! -
Bring it on
A much needed snowfall began falling last night and has fallen all day. Along with the snow comes the cold. We’re at about 12 degrees now and will be in single digits tonight. I say much needed snow because it will help in quelling some of the fire activity from spreading. It will not however put out the fires. Forest fires will smolder under snow then blow up again after the melt. I do find it interesting to hear people being excited about the snow because of the fires. Normally people are put off with the first major snowfall as it means the coming of winter and cold. What I hear today is, “Bring it on!”
