    More Signs of Natures Artwork

    Honeysuckle

Outside my hotel in Nashville is a winding two lane road that leads back to the interstate. On one side of the road is a densely wooded area with a small stream meandering through it. While on the opposite side of this road are a couple of hotels and the noisy interstate. Guess which side of the road I like to walk on. I walk the wooded side where there is no sidewalk and the trees provide shade and the much needed soothing sounds for my soul. If we walk slowly along these areas where nature is alive we have the chance to see its exquisite works of art through its composition, lines and curves, textures, light, color, tone, and creativity. As a photographer I’ve attempted to present what I saw and experienced when I got up close and down on my old knees to experience Natures art. If anyone has read John Muir’s writing you will find that he also got down on his knees to see this incredible world of nature we live in.

Nature photographer, Guy Tal, has an interesting post on the need to understand  art in order to be an artist. We need to be students of art and what greater teacher than Nature.

    Number 318

This was taken somewhere around my hotel in Alexandria, VA. I head for Denver today and sign the lease on my apartment and give them money. I will be moving a few things into the place but not planning on moving the bigger stuff until next week. I am looking forward to being closer to the airport and not have to commute for an hour and a half. Hope everyone has a good week.

    Risky Work

    Window Washing

As a flight attendant we usually cruise at an altitude from 25,000 to 36,000 feet. The office view from this tubicle is far better than the view from any of the cubicles I’ve worked in the past. However, I must admit to having a fear of heights. Let me explain. When standing on a second story balcony you will find me tightly gripping the guard rail. Yet, I do not have any problem looking out the window of an aircraft at 32,000 feet. So, while on a walk I noticed these two window washers as they swung back and forth to clean these windows. Sorry, but not me!

    Another Walk

    Another Walk

On one of my walks around our hotel I found this replica of the Washington Monument in a small park called Oronoco Bay Park located along the Potomac River. I enjoyed my walk and took the time to sit on one of the many benches along the walking trail to watch the aircraft landing from the south at Reagan National Airport. I found a nice Thai restaurant called Thailand on Royal Street on my way back to the hotel. I tried something different called Fiery Basil (Kaprow). Not bad and no wonder my pants fit tight!

    Clematis

This was taken at a local nursery while shopping with my sister. SHe has several of these plants and is excited to see them this year. I will be in my recurrent training for the next 3 days, so no laptop and a bit of study, classroom work and testing going on. Hope everyone has a good week!
