Seven years ago I attended a workshop in Denver on portraiture. This lovely woman was one of the two models we were able to work with. Technically I like the outcome of this image but her expression, that smile, glancing look, is what makes this image work for me. And, she’s beautiful! Anyway, I decided to post this image because I don’t want anyone thinking I only shoot distant horizons of sunrises and sunsets, or latte art or fountain pens and journals.

Pork and Beans
The bicycle is the most efficient machine ever created. Converting calories into gas, a bicycle gets the equivalent of three thousand miles per gallon.
Bill StricklandThis image was taken near one of the parking lots along the bike path that follows the Poudre River. Most of this path is paved and is widely used by the residents of Fort Collins for walking and bicycling. It matters not what time of the day, there is always someone riding the path. The city of Fort Collins is bike friendly and is committed to them. We see a lot of commuters and being a college town it is also used a lot by students. This path also connects to the Poudre Trail Corridor that goes all the way into Weld county. It also now connects the cities of Loveland and Fort Collins. Something within me knows I need to be on a bicycle more than I am. If the above quote is correct, I could eat more pork and beans, maybe moving that number up to 3,500 miles per gallon. Just saying!

… that other thing?
I don’t know about other people’s cameras. Mine is a thing I had cobbled up, it holds together with tape and is always losing parts. All I need to set is the distance and that other thing—what do you call that other thing?

A Post Test
Okay, this is a second post today and a test for me. I decided to delete all the subscriptions I had because many of the over 1,000 subscriptions were nothing but duplications. Wanted to see this cleaned up and start from scratch. So, when you post a comment and subscribe again, on this post or the previous, it will ask you to re-enter your name, email, website, your bank routing number, and your checking and savings numbers. (I’m retired and on a fixed income)
Thanks!

Last Night’s Sunset
Think I’m gonna send Adobe a suggestion for them to add an automatic Remove Contrails button in Lightroom.
And a side note: Amanda Gorman rocks!

cold morning sunriseSaw a short video that suggested we not give the vaccine to our healthcare workers first because if something does go wrong with the vaccine we could be in serious trouble without our healthcare workers. They suggested we give it to our politicians first. That way if something does go wrong with the vaccine we are not losing anything. With our political environment in the state it’s in now, it makes sense to me. I could even suggest where to start.

wearing warmer socksIt was 36 degrees this morning at 6:15 am. I consider that cold, so I layered my clothing. I wore some nice warm socks with my sandals. Wind blew hard early today, allowing us to enjoy our Colorado blue skies. This afternoon the winds died down and the smoke moved back in, no more blue skies. This is not the new normal!!
