As a photographer I will stop the car along the road, parking illegally, jump out of the car all in pursuit of some image my muse has called my attention to and must be photographed. I’ve also been known to stand in traffic for something that excites me. We photographers are not sick, just passionate, excitable, discovering the commonplace.
This was taken a few weeks ago at the dam on a foggy morning. It has the feeling of going nowhere. However, on a positive note, today is suppose to be sunny and warm. Nice way to enjoy a day in November.
Images don’t magically appear on our hard drives because we think about them. We must crawl out of our warm beds on a cold and foggy morning for the magic to happen. If we’re not out there, there are no images.
I woke early Saturday morning, checked the weather forecast and saw they were predicting fog. I quickly showered and headed out the door. Even though the mood of fog draws me into images, I have few images of these weather conditions. I have more opportunities out here in the Ohio Valley than I do in my Colorado. But, just like the couch, we have to get up out of a warm comfy bed to find these images. But, so worth it. If you look close you can see a lone fisherman at the waters edge.
This image in the Shenandoah Valley was taken last year while I visited a friend in Winchester, Virginia. The morning fog was not in our plans for photographs but as it stayed for the day we were able to get some interesting images. Here is an image Naomi took.
