A cold front has moved in and brought much-needed moisture but also cold temperatures. The rain began yesterday afternoon then became a mix of rain and snow. Some periods were just snow as you can see in the above image taken from my porch around 4:30 pm. All is well this morning as the snow accumulation was no more than a dusting. But now we live with the cold for the next 36 hours. I’m hoping the mountains received a lot more snow.

Snow Along Poudre River

Anne LamottWe finally are warming up, expecting 40 degrees today and 50 tomorrow. Took this image about an hour ago along the Poudre River. Stay warm! 🙂

It was 20 degrees this morning with a dusting of 1-2 inches of powdery snow. And, they say it will be this way the rest of the week. Brrrr!

First Snowfall
We received our first snowfall yesterday. I took this at the entrance to the Fisher Nature Area trail near my condo. This morning we are at 19 degrees and frost on windows. Stay warm.

It’s May First
And, we awoke to a third day of rain/snow mix. My weather app said it was 34 degrees at 6:00 am. Not sure how much snow they have in the mountains but I think it’s a lot. Farmers are going to love this. We have almost an inch of moisture. I took this image late this morning at Cathy Fromme Natural area. I’m pretty sure the higher mountains are white but with the cloud cover I can tell. Stay warm.

More Coming
The snow is pretty much gone after a couple of warm days but Nature is planning on sending us more moisture in the form of snow on Wednesday. I took this image last Saturday after our snow on Friday. Nature makes simple and pleasing art.

Winter Reminder
Well the First Day of Spring will be on Sunday so winter decided to remind us that it is still winter. Mixed snow and rain began falling early yesterday morning and continued through the night. We received between 4 and 5 inches as of this afternoon. And, tonight is expected to drop down into the low teens.
