    A Gift Card Spent

    Pelikan M200 in Marbled Brown
    Pelikan M200 in Marbled Brown

With a gift card given to me for Christmas I purchased another fountain pen, a Brown Marbled Pelikan M200 with a fine nib. They are a well respected fountain pen company, founded in Germany in 1832. I have always been attracted to their style and shape but never purchased one since their pricing starts in the low $100 range which is beyond my limits. So far I’m quite pleased and expecting to have my first novel finished by the end of the week. 🙂 I’ll keep you posted.

    A Little Snow and Cold

It is snowing, a light powdery snowfall. I like the quiet a snowfall brings. We have a couple inches right now but could see a total of 4 inches. Some brave soul had been riding their bicycle this morning as the only tracks on the sidewalk were their tire tracks. Snowplows are out. I find it interesting how the city of Fort Collins has small snowplows they use to clean the bike lanes. And, needless to say, it’s pretty quiet in the coffeehouse.

    Brrrr

    CSU Oval
    CSU Oval

We awoke to light snow yesterday morning then watched it increase to a beautiful winter snowfall. I left home early to find a spot near a window at Mugs coffeehouse to watch it snow. Glad I did. When I left an hour and a half later I walked across the street to the oval on campus for this image. Very few people were out due to the weather and it was Martin Luther King Day so there were almost no tracks in the snow. It stayed cold all day even though the sun came out in the afternoon. It was 2 degrees at 6:30 this morning. Brrrr!

    Merry Christmas

    Merry Christmas
    Merry Christmas

It is a cold Christmas season for us here in Colorado. We’ve had single digit temperatures for 3 straight days which means the daytime highs don’t get very high. Santa will earn his money this year. We may have a bit of snow on Christmas day.

I’m having Christmas Eve dinner with some friends then time with family Christmas Day. I hope you are able to be with family and friends, also! Merry Christmas to you.

    Sweet Sinsations

    Sweet Sensations
    Sweet Sinsations

There are four coffee shops, that I’m aware of, on the campus at Colorado State University. There are several off campus catering to the thousands of students pulling all-nighters. One I patronize is located in the Lory Student Center call Sweet Sinsations Cafe. Of course all you will find are students working the coffee shop and students grabbing a cup on their way to class. And it is cold this morning, 22 degrees right now.
