I see this and smile because this bee does not have news, politics, car insurance, college debt to worry about. All it needs to deal with is daily survival in their one year life cycle. The following is from the Bumblebee Conservation Trust.

Don’t go there…
By “there” I’m referring to anywhere near the campus at Colorado State University as (about) 33,413 students have descended on campus in the past 24 hours. Parents are dropping off new freshman at the dorms so the streets are lined with cars and bright orange parking cones. CSU police and students are directing traffic. Simply said, it’s a mess!

Original Goodness
We are made, the scriptures of all religions assure us, in the image of God. Nothing can change that original goodness. Whatever mistakes we have made in the past, whatever problems we may have in the present, in every one of us this “uncreated spark in the soul” remains untouched, ever pure, ever perfect. Even if we try with all our might to douse or hide it, it is always ready to set our personality ablaze with light. – Eknath Easwaran

Art of Attention
“Spirituality is the art of transfiguration. We should not force ourselves to change by hammering our lives into any determined shape. We do not need to operate according to the idea of a predetermined program or plan for our lives. Rather, we need to practice a new art of attention to the inner rhythm of our days and lives.”
John O’Donoghue -
Moral Compass
“Today we are engaged in a deadly global struggle for those who would intimidate, torture, and murder people for exercising the most basic freedoms. If we are to win this struggle and spread those freedoms, we must keep our own moral compass pointed in a true direction.” Barack Obama

Being Present
“All that we can do with any spiritual discipline is produce within ourselves something of the silence, the humility, the detachment, the purity of heart and the indifference which are required if the inner self is to make some shy, unpredictable manifestation of his presence.” James Finley

In Between Reading
After dinner last night I walked around the gardens with my camera. This sunflower plant is about five feet in height. Since it was backlit, a photo opportunity appeared and I accepted it. Hope to get in some exploring time in this weekend in between reading.
