This past Saturday was our first frost of the season. The weather gurus are predicting overnight lows down into the mid to high 30’s for the next four days. So, morning walks will be cool and brisk.

Autumn Colors
On my walk for coffee I stooped down on my knees to shoot this image but I ended up just staying there as I studied the patterns and colors nature was creating. While I watched the wind would rustle and move the leaves changing the pattern. The light changed as clouds moved above, casting a different light. The scene also changed as more leaves would fall and add to the scene. I was only there for a few minutes but it helped kick start my day.

A Story of Fallen Leaves
“There is something incredibly nostalgic and significant about the annual cascade of autumn leaves.” – Joe L. Wheeler
Each fall I watch the leaves change colors and fall from the trees. A gust of wind blows and leaves are separated from the branches. It’s beautiful to observe. Yet, these leaves fall onto sidewalks, pavement or rock beds. We rake them into piles and bag them, preventing them from living their full life cycle of decomposition, a vital part of nature.

Shenandoah Park
This image in the Shenandoah Valley was taken last year while I visited a friend in Winchester, Virginia. The morning fog was not in our plans for photographs but as it stayed for the day we were able to get some interesting images. Here is an image Naomi took.
