    Hot

    Ammons Hall CSU Administration Building
    Ammons Hall CSU Administration Building

We have been hot here in Colorado, reaching 103 yesterday. It’s going to be cooler, somewhere around 95 today but Saturday will only reach 70 with a chance of rain.  Below is an exert from my journal, a prayer if you will, from June 3 2108.

“It’s quiet here on my porch. Enjoyable. May I stay present, aware of all that’s around me. May I have  calm and serenity. I do not like conflict in my life, whether that is internal or external. May I trust more and have courage to take actions in my life. Grateful for the quiet.”

    It’s how you see

    TWSBI Classic in White

“The world exists as you perceive it.It’s not what you see, but how you see it.It is not what you hear, but how you hear it.It is not what you feel, but how you feel it.”

    Rumi

I’m re-reading David duChemin’s book The Soul of the Camera. I read it last year and just about done with my second pass. I thought this was his best book and feeling that still to be true.

The pen is my new TWSBI Classic in White with a medium nib. They make stiff steel nibs but all four TWSBI pens I’ve used are very smooth writers. I’m quite pleased with it.

    Now Have Four

    The Four White Pens
    The Four White Pens

This is not the best image but it shows my four white fountain pens. From front to back I have a white Pilot Prera, White Nemosine Singularity, White TWSBI Classic and a White Tiger Pilot Metro. The newest one is the TWSBI Classic. All of them are nice writers and no I do not have a favorite, yet. After taking this image I realized how all of them have silver trim. Now, I have more decisions to make each morning. 🙂

    Enjoy your weekend!

    Free Coffee?

    Free Coffee
    Free Coffee

“Every morning was a cheerful invitation to make my life of equal simplicity, and I may say innocence, with Nature herself.”

    Henry David Thoreau, Walden

Well, not really as we pay for them somehow. Many coffee shops are setup to offer a discount after 10 or 12 purchases. Some even offer free drinks and food. I’ve never had the nerve to calculate how much money I spend just to have a $2.00 discount or free coffee. And,  I probably won’t! 🙂

    Looking for Awe and Wonder

    Afternoon Clouds on the Farm
    Afternoon Clouds on the Farm

I have always carried stress in my shoulders. It’s there now. There is a feeling of restlessness. I find my mind wandering to unknown places in the universe. Feel I’m not listening to the inner voice within me but the chatter of my ego and the noise of the world around me. Maybe if I share myself more on this blog, hear what you have experienced, take more action, the stress will lessen.

Now in my retirement there is a life to live full of excitement and adventures, images to receive, words to write in my journals, blog posts to write, places to visit, people to meet and a chance to discover more creativity within me. I find this exciting. However, this requires me to take action and not just dream of them. In the past I have only dreamed. There are no excuses. As I’ve heard, “Dreams without action are only fantasy.” I hope and pray I live the rest of my life with excitement, without fear of failure or success, looking for awe and wonder all around me.

    New Fountain Pen

    Pilor Elite 95s
    Pilot Elite 95s

I have a new fountain pen called a Pilot Elite 95 s. I fell in love with this pen the first time I noticed it over a year ago. Pilot’s Elite S fountain pen was first introduced in 1968 and enjoyed great popularity especially as a wonderful gift for celebrating school admittance or a new job. The Elite 95S is based on the 2nd-generation Elite S from 1975, and mirrors the vintage feel of a pen from those times.

It has a retro style look I like. The 14K gold nib gives the pen a classy intriguing look and is a smooth writing instrument. When capped, it’s short and lightweight at 15 grams. When the cap is posted, the pen’s standard length makes it comfortable for writing. It comes in a solid black with gold trim and a burgundy body with a gold cap. I’m loving it and a gift from my sister!
