After weeks of testing during this Christmas season I have concluded that there is no taste difference between the red or green peanut M&M’s. The sampling was conducted on a 16 oz bag of M&M’s called the Holiday Mix (the green bag). There were found to be noticeable color differences, the sizes of samples varied widely, but it seems the taste has always been the same. It was even noticed on some samples where the letter “m” was missing (a quality control issue) and also found no taste differences. So, the final analysis is they all tasted the same from the one 16 oz. bag. I believe no further testing required this season. 🙂
I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable New Years Eve and day. May the coming year be full of surprises and wonderful blessings! Hugs!

We were recently testing the peanut version. A worthwhile endeavor.

Monte, Best wishes for the New Year. BTW, we just returned from a journey to Boston – I don’t know how you fly for a living, it’s got to be extremely difficult!

some times I don’t either. I am doing this because of the people and the places I do get to see. I do not consider it a career and not sure how much longer I will be doing it. The life style requires a nomadic spirit.

Since all test samples were from one bag that means they were from the same lot. I believe you’d need to test at least another bag with a unique lot number to be sure there’s not difference. 😉
Happy New Year!

You are right, to make a valid test we would need to sample more bags. I guess one more bag wouldn’t hurt.

I’m with Earl. Just to make sure that you have good quality control, you need to test another bag from a different store! That ought to do it!

I can sure tell you and Earl have that engineer gene. We want data to make an accurate analysis, We’ve had way too many statistics classes in college!

Brought a smile to both our faces (Em and I). May your new year be exactly what you desire.

I mostly love the almond ones. This is the first year we found them in red and green. Big difference in taste from those and the “premium” almond m & ms.

Happy New Year Monte, keep sampling.
