Hobbs or Foster would probably sniff this fire hydrant, maybe leave their mark. I do not sniff it, or leave my mark but I do get down on one knee (the dogs view) and aim my lens at it. It also gets me wonder how many people walk by this hydrant and never notice it. I mean it’s on the sidewalk where someone texting on their phone would trip over it. And, it’s red. So often it’s the simple things we miss in life.

Monte, here’s a funny tidbit. Foster has never learned to jack up his hind leg to pee, which my car tires and I are very thankful for. The only other dog he’s been around for any length of time is Maggie a female who squats. But he would no doubt spend many long minutes sniffing and categorizing this hydrant.
I dare say people have probably walked into this bright red “stump” but I wouldn’t think they could claim not noticing it.
Have a good day.

That nice bright red certainly is cheery—even if it is on such a humble object. Your position for taking the photo certainly makes this the success.
