This abstract is actually the grate over a water drainage line just outside my apartments. Once I had my groceries inside I came back out into the wind and snow to see what I could create.

Framing is perfect Monte, I really like this one. 3D feel that wars with a flat feel to it. I always have a problem with shooting in the snow and start thinking Kandinsky and the whole white on white painting thing. I love it when someone puts snow in perspective for me.

Thanks, Ray! I have trouble shooting in the snow also but mostly because of the cold. 🙂 It wasn’t too long after this image the school kids came home, had a snowball fight and this scene was no longer the same. Have a super day!

Keeping the eyes open, nice shot.

Thanks, Don. I’m learning to see with my eyes and not just look.

Monte, I like that you framed in on the diagonal. As Ray K. implied it really gives depth to what otherwise could have seemed a flat shot. Well done!

I walked about 180 degrees around this grate and this is the angle I liked best. Glad you guys did too. Thanks!

I love images like this . . . especially in the snow! Cold these days, isn’t it?
