For over 40 years I have been primarily focused on landscape, nature and travel photography with a few weddings and portraits thrown in. I no longer shoot weddings but I will still use my camera for creative portraits, both color and black and white images. I’m a believer in the adage that we can only improve in any craft when we practice it. So, I’m willing to work with anyone willing to work with me. If you are interested, here are some suggestions on what we can create that works for both of us.
- Meet and discuss ideas, locations, clothing or themes and what our expectations are. The essence of who you are is what we want to bring out and having such a conversation will help set that tone.
- Schedule a 1-3 hour photo session. Again, we want to bring out your personality. I’m not a director telling you how to pose, stand or wrinkle your nose. It is my belief that when the model and photographer are comfortable everything will all fall into place.
- Now this is where we have FUN. Once we set up the scene then it is your turn to take center stage. Using the camera and lens as your audience, find a comfortable and natural pose: a smile, a smirk, a flirting look, a sad look, whatever you feel like. There is no right or wrong pose when you’re comfortable and the best pose will appear naturally. Next, I’ll take a few images, then we’ll move on to another scene and more poses.
- Bring any props you may want and a couple of changes of clothes. Bring that favorite hat, jacket, tie, scarf, boots, or whatever and we will use it.
- Once the session is completed I will download and backup all files then start post processing the images. I will contact you within 3-5 days with a USB drive containing one folder of printable JPEG files and one folder with web sized files for the internet. I can also provide a portfolio book of various sizes and costs, if that’s of interest to you. I use Blurb to create and print books. Their pricing can be found here. Please feel free to use these images to create your own book or make your own prints.
I’m aware money can be a problem for many and I do not want this to be about money. So my price is based on PWYW (Pay What You Want refers to a pricing strategy where a customer is allowed to choose how much they pay for a product or service, essentially setting their own price, with the option to pay nothing at all.) Any attempts at greater than $5000 tips will not be accepted!
Again, if you are interested in setting up a photo session you can leave me an email from my contact menu.
