    Blue Eyes

    Mother and Son

I would like to take credit for this image but it is not my image. A few years ago my sisters and I gathered some images of family and created a group of images to give our parents for one of those digital picture frames. This was one of this images we used. I played with it and wanted to add it to last weeks images of children. Love those blue eyes.

    Practicing

    Practicing

“I am always mentally photographing everything as practice.” – Minor White

This image was taken at one of my favorite coffee hangouts. The young mans name is Dillon and works at the coffee shop as a barista. He is taking a break from steaming milk and pouring shots to practice for a few minutes. Now that is what we call dedication to his craft.

And, sitting across from me is a young photographer named is Gayle who is working through the images from a photo shoot. She is a wife, a mother and a professional wedding, newborn, and children’s photographer. If we look around us we will see those who put in the time to hone their skills through dedication and practice. They’re everywhere.

    The Regulars

    A Couple of Regulars

Every coffee shop will have its regulars. They make up an important part of them. Along with the quality of the coffee, the personalities of the baristas, and the decor, they help develop the ambiance of the coffee shop. The baristas and customers know them by name and they know the baristas and customers. If they do not show up in their regular chairs, people will worry. Here are a couple of regulars at a local coffee shop with their thinking caps on. Not sure if they are all talked out or they decided they’ve finally solved all the world problems.

    Morning Ritual

    Morning Ritual

“Ritual is necessary for us to know anything.” Ken Kese

These two are regulars at the coffee shop. They come in and sit at the same table. He plays with a game while she reads. He drinks a juice and she drinks coffee. I took this image without them knowing it then showed them the image. I was surprised how excited she was. It tells a story of a mother and her sons morning ritual before school and work. Hope they had a good day!
