    An evening in Old Town

The lights of Old Town bring people together in one of the restaurants

Took the bus to Old Town the other night and walked around with my camera. This is not all that sharp as I was hand holding it. You can see on the left side of the image how the lights are lit up in town. I will try and take a few images of the lights during this Christmas season. It was a bit on the cold side and thus the reason no one was sitting outside and I’ll blame that for the blurr, also.

    Fortitude

    Runners in the Fortitude Race

Last weekend they had the third annual Fortitude race in Fort Collins. Unknown to me the route came in front of Mugs coffee shop. These runners are at the 5 mile mark on 10k race. They were about a mile from the finish line which was in the stadium. I loved the shadows these runners are casting in the morning sun.

    Friday Night Art Walk

First Friday Art Walk is a monthly self-guided walking tour that celebrates creativity, culture, and community in Downtown Fort Collins on the first Friday of each month from 6 – 9 pm. From fine to funky, First Friday Art Walk showcases a spectrum of artistic styles to entertain and engage amateurs and art aficionado of all ages, interests and backgrounds. The website says 22 venues partake in it. Some are art galleries serving snacks, drinks and musicians and some are the local bars. This past Friday I made a trip down to Old Town because my friend Don Thurn was playing. In this image he is playing Starry, Starry Night by Don McClean at the Walnut Creek.

This store is a great place to buy and sell unique jewelry, repurposed furniture, boutique clothing, vintage goods and a plethora of other knick-knacks and handcrafted gifts, representing about 80 local artists. If you can think of it I bet you could find in there. 🙂

    Doors in Alleys

“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.” Corrie Ten Boom

Doors found in the back alley of Old Town Fort Collins. I’d venture to say this morning that there does not exist a street photographer that does not have at least a hundred images, maybe thousands, of doors in alleys.
