The past week has been spent with family. We’ve had a sister and brother-in-law visiting so some time was spent in Rocky Mountain National Park and a drive over Trail Ridge Road included. Saturday was BBQ ribs at my daughter’s house. Love my family! Hope everyone has enjoyed the weekend!

    Photography Has Changed Me

    Old Town Alley
    Old Town Alley

The dream to be a professional photographer faded many years ago. I find it interesting that when I eliminated the word professional I began to really be a photographer. Photography began to be a part of me, something I needed to partake of on a regular basis. It began to change something within me, opening my eyes and really see the world around me, whether that’s photographing a sunset or a walk through an alley in my neighborhood. I continuously look for “the more” and find it to be a wonderful process and journey. Yes, photography has changed me.

    Tickling the Ivory

    Street Musican in Old Town
    Street Musican in Old Town

This past week I encountered three young people in Old Town enjoying a jam session. One young man was on the piano and the other two were playing guitars and singing. I just stood there and listened to their music with no intent to shoot. I finally took five shots then moved on. This image reminds me of Johnny Hahn who has played the piano at Pikes Market in Seattle for years. We need artists like this in our world who work at their craft for the love of it not the popularity and money.
