    Brush Stroke of Pink

Scenes like this at Pineridge Natural Area are one of the perks for waking early. As I watched this miracle unfold I wondered what if would be like to lie in bed, snuggled under warm blankets, looking out at this scene each morning. Then I realized this awe and wonder moment I’m experiencing is because I’m standing there as a part-of nature rather than some observer laying in bed. The owl greeted me again, asking me “who-hoo” I am. Or, maybe they were asking me if I’m in touch with “who-hoo” creates these scenes each morning. I believe I know! I’ll be here again!

    Busy Sunday

It is cloudy and overcast this morning but still warm. Rain is possible later and welcomed. Have a rather busy Sunday which will help keep me out of trouble. This image is from Friday mornings walk at The Gardens on Spring Creek. Have a great Sunday!

    Yearning

    the physical absence
    brings an empty ache
    missing you already

    a gravesite gathering
    family saying goodbye
    hugs, tears, prayers

    taken for granted
    moments with you
    yearning for more

    Tasted Perfect

    simple recipe
    frothed milk and espresso
    gift of latte art

With overcast and smokey skies this morning I headed to the Bean Cycle for a latte and journaling. My barista, Devan, made a very attractive mocha with her artistic touch. I like how she sprinkles chocolate powder about halfway through pouring the milk then finishes with her latte art. Again, I took this image with that old camera and I think the image turned out decent. But, the mocha tasted perfect. Happy Sunday!

I watched this Great Blue Heron for several minutes as it slowly moved along in stealth mode. They fish without a lure but wade slowly while stalking their prey in shallow water or flooded meadows, and will strike using their neck to throw their sharp, dagger like bill at their prey. On this morning they actually had a three for three success rate for small fish while I watched. An adult heron can easily consume up to 1 lb of fish per day. Their diet consists mostly of fish, but also frogs, salamanders, turtles, snakes, insects, rodents, birds.
