Sometimes I have nothing to say so I’m just post an image of what I see around me.

Lamp and Shade
I like the sound of the shutter in my camera. It’s one of the reasons I take photos but it is not the main reason. I shoot to fill my need to share what I see around me. For so many years I missed seeing the world. I mean I saw it but I didn’t see it. I now look for shapes, patterns, colors, subjects and try to see them with a new vision. Oh, to be a story teller with our images.

While on my walk….
Sometimes when I arrive at our hotel I find a walk to be good medicine for relieving any stress. While on such a walk I found this lamp on the outside of the hotel as a simple yet interesting subject. How often do we walk by these simple objects and never see them?

Waiting Together
Waiting is not something people like to do, especially in these present times, and I’m one of those people. While waiting in line at the bank yesterday, I found myself getting irritated. Even though I had nothing that important on my “to-do-list” I wanted a second bank teller. It was my perception we needed to be moving along faster. Has that ever happened to you?
As a child I remember sitting at a doctors office waiting to see a doctor. It seemed like eternity. Now that I’m a few years older I’ve come to accept sitting and waiting as a time to enjoy the moment, relax and take it all in. I admit to failing, as in my example above, but hopefully getting better at it. When we really think about it, there are no real short cuts in life. When we ask for it quicker we sacrifice something. No way did I want to be short changed by a bank teller. I like this image as it shows a couple waiting for a boat to carry them down the Potomac River to Mount Vernon. I went along with them and it was worth the wait.

Lamp Shade
I’m intrigued by lamps. No I’m not strange. I think it’s because of this photographer’s eye that’s drawn to shapes, colors and patterns. I take quite few photos of them and trash most of them as I struggle to present the feeling I have when I first encounter them. And, of course, they’re everywhere. This one was in my hotel room in Atlanta and I do like how this one turned out.
