    Eggnog Latte

    Tis the Season

… topped with nutmeg. Mmmmmm! Tis the season, ya know. 🙂

And, since it is also the season for consumerism, I thought I’d help Ken out and pass along a link to his Christmas list. I’m going to watch and see how it goes for him then possibly make my own next year or borrow some of his new stuff. Have a good weekend.

    I ♥ Coffee Shops

    Mocha Latte

Starbucks had its start in Seattle with its original store located in Pikes Market. And, it’s true, they have stores everywhere. Yet, just below my hostel was a little coffee shop called Seattle Coffee Cafe. I tried it out the morning I left and enjoyed my mocha latte but was intrigued by all that I saw around me. Two young men worked the shop, one on the register, connecting with customers and taking orders. The second man was behind the bar, hand grinding the beans, damping the coffee by hand and pouring the shots through his manual machine.  The whole process was a work of art. The little heart added to my mocha does not improve the taste but adds a special touch. Makes you feel like your not just someone to quickly get out the door.

    A Good Day

    Latte and Scones

The last two mornings the temperature was in the single digits when I begrudgingly crawled out of my warm bed. This morning it’s 23 degrees, feels like a heat wave. So, laundry is going, the latte is made and the pumpkin/walnut scones are made. It’s gonna be a good day! Hope you have a good one also!

    Latte and Scone

    Latte and Scone

A couple of days ago it rained throughout the night and continued into the early afternoon. So, who can blame us if we indulge in a favorite latte and a scone at a local coffee shop while it rains outside? I tried to write but words were not to be found. I tried to read but could not stay focused. So I sipped on the latte and nibbled on the scone.

    They tolerate me…

    Cupcake and Latte

I have friends who know I’m a photographer and still like me or maybe that should be tolerate me. Case in point is the above image of Lisa’s cupcake and latte. I didn’t eat it or ask to eat it but I asked to take a few shots of it. She tolerates me.

    The Chair

    The Chair

I acquired a new chair about 4 weeks ago. It’s a recliner/rocker and fits my posterior nicely. someone was throwing it away so I hauled it upstairs, bought some upholstery cleaner, scrubbed it down with a sponge, vacuumed it out and poof, we have a new chair for me. Looks like new! One of the things I miss about my condo back in Colorado was the bay window in my bedroom that faced southeast. I enjoyed spending my mornings sitting in a similar rocker with my latte, having quiet time, or reading, or writing and watching the sun come up. It’s a wonderful way to start my day.

Happy New Years to all my blogging friends!
