    Things are wet

You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land; there is no other life but this.

    Henry David Thoreau

Things are wet. And, because of that photo opportunities were everywhere. So, I took my camera with me to get the mail yesterday afternoon. And by doing that I stayed present as I’ve learned there is no other life but this. No mail but I did return with a few images that depict our weather condition. Even has a tinge of fall to it.

So I had an enjoyable, serene, quiet time of prayer and meditation this morning. Then a half hour later burst out in profanity at my phone. Shows I am a work in progress. It is a cold, humid, and misty morning. It’s the perfect morning for an Old Town Mocha at Mugs and made by my barista, Emily. Have a wonderful Friday!

    What is my intention today?

The intention of a photographer is to capture the beauty in places, obvious or hidden, in which modern age and technology cause us to dismiss.

    Kassadi Collins

I suspect that each of us could walk around our neighborhoods for a half hour and find a multitude of images that we would call keepers. For it is my belief that nature is creating scenes at all times, just for the joy of it. We just need to look and see, just for the joy of it. Yet we can walk through the day with our technology close at hand and miss much of the beauty this world offers. Maybe we need to ask ourselves the question that Kassidi is referring to; What is my intention today?

    Orange and red

Each morning we awake to smoke settling upon us like fog. We do have periods when blue skies can be seen but there is that gray filter between us and the sun.

On a walk to the drug store i had one of those moments. Out of the corner of my eye I watched a leaf falling near me and then another and another. I stopped and just watched them descend. It was a waterfall of bright colored leaves. It was one of those spiritual experiences life offers us. After a while I decided to go back and get the camera. The fall colors are peaking in town. This is a tree in my complex with the sun bursting through and a closer view of the leaves. Happy Friday!

    It’s Been Windy

    A couple hanging on
    A Few Still Hanging On

The wind has blown hard both Tuesday and Wednesday, gusts up to 40 mph. Tree limbs are strewn all over, sections of fence are down, trees are bare naked, my hair’s a mess and most of our leaves are now somewhere in Kansas. We are suppose to have a reprieve from the wind today, but it is cold, then rain/snow mix on Friday. I am heading to Phoenix this Sunday for two weeks with my family. I just may go barefoot down there. 🙂

    Frosty Morning

    Frosted Leaves
    Frosted Leaves

They predicted the temperature to drop as low as 20 degrees last night but I did not stay up to find out. My covers were nice and warm so I slept in and what I beautiful frost nature gave us. After quiet time I bundled up and came for coffee. It actually was a nice walk with the sun shinning. Here is another image from the Big Leaf Maple I pass by each morning on my walk. Enjoy your weekend!

No Lightroom processing. Loaded into Polarr and re-sized for the internet. Would appreciate it if you would let me know what it looks like on your monitor.

“The soul has been given its own ears to hear things the mind does not understand.”

    Rumi

The biggest percentage of my images from October have been leaves. Evidence I’ve been walking with my head down.  But they are the images I’ve enjoyed the most.
