I took this image on a cold night this past December. A tripod was required for the star effect on the street light.

An evening in Old Town
Took the bus to Old Town the other night and walked around with my camera. This is not all that sharp as I was hand holding it. You can see on the left side of the image how the lights are lit up in town. I will try and take a few images of the lights during this Christmas season. It was a bit on the cold side and thus the reason no one was sitting outside and I’ll blame that for the blurr, also.

Enjoying the weather
I took this on Saturday afternoon. I’ve had a cold since Thursday so I needed to get out of the house. Saturday evening was CSU’s Homecoming so there were a lot of people in Old Town. That meant a lot of people were from out of town for the game, grabbing a beer and burger before the game and a bit of shopping. It was perfect football weather with nary a cloud in the sky. However, the young man running around in the fountain had no concern about any silly football game as he was focused solidly on his time chasing the bubbling fountains. Every once in awhile he would let out a squeal of joy because he almost caught one, whatever that meant to him, and that motivated him to try it again. Mom and dad stood to the side and watched, with grins.
We’ve had wonderful weather the last 5 days. Today and tomorrow are expected to be in the high to mid 70’s. But the high for Thursday is only gonna be 32 degrees with a nighttime low of 18 degrees and snow. So, we’re enjoying the weather while we can!

Friday Night Art Walk
First Friday Art Walk is a monthly self-guided walking tour that celebrates creativity, culture, and community in Downtown Fort Collins on the first Friday of each month from 6 – 9 pm. From fine to funky, First Friday Art Walk showcases a spectrum of artistic styles to entertain and engage amateurs and art aficionado of all ages, interests and backgrounds. The website says 22 venues partake in it. Some are art galleries serving snacks, drinks and musicians and some are the local bars. This past Friday I made a trip down to Old Town because my friend Don Thurn was playing. In this image he is playing Starry, Starry Night by Don McClean at the Walnut Creek.
This store is a great place to buy and sell unique jewelry, repurposed furniture, boutique clothing, vintage goods and a plethora of other knick-knacks and handcrafted gifts, representing about 80 local artists. If you can think of it I bet you could find in there. 🙂

Doors in Alleys
“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.” Corrie Ten Boom
Doors found in the back alley of Old Town Fort Collins. I’d venture to say this morning that there does not exist a street photographer that does not have at least a hundred images, maybe thousands, of doors in alleys.

Blue Sky
Took this one a week ago in Old Town. As I came out of the parking garage I saw the patterns of the windows then immediately noticed the sky. This is one of those images where one was all I needed then off to the appointment. Hope everyone has a super wonderful weekend.

Enjoy the Little Things
It’s Monday morning and the beginning of a new week. So, what would the world be like if we lived what this sign says? Found it on the wall at The Little Bird Bakery in Old Town over the weekend.
