I’m still called by shadows, lines and textures as evident by the images I take.

Patterns and Shapes
This abstract is actually the grate over a water drainage line just outside my apartments. Once I had my groceries inside I came back out into the wind and snow to see what I could create.

Chasing Shadows
I find myself walking around with camera in hand, searching for what is unseen. The unseen is often always visible, just not seen. I can overlook the obvious unless I slow down, look from within. When I do look those shadows, lines and textures will shout for my attention then I see. Today I chased shadows.

Green Ferns
“While there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see.”
Dorothea LangePhotography has given me is the gift of seeing more of the world around me. These ferns were against the wall of a stucco building next to a pathway leading to the swimming pool and immediately caught my attention. I feel photography has allowed me to see more of the world rather than just walking past it.
