I miss some of the overnights we had on our east coast flying. Having an overnight in Portland, Maine with enough time to head down to the harbor and enjoy a bowl of fresh chowder or fresh lobster. Won’t find this in Wichita or Des Moines or Omaha.

Telling a Story
I found these two gentlemen enjoying the afternoon in the harbor at Portland, Maine. The image tells a story. Well, actually it tells several stories as each of us will see and envision our own. Are they fishermen or sailors? Retired fishermen or sailors? Wealthy? Married to money? Or maybe all of them. What does it tell you or does it even speak to you?
Anyway, I did play a bit with Topaz Adjust on this image, one of those fun things I must do once in a while.

The Girls at Sebago
I enjoy eating out and I’ve done a lot of it since taking this job as a flight attendant, as my increased girth shows it. This image was taken while in Portland, ME at a restaurant called Sabago. Sebago is a brewery and restaurant with 4 locations and have a fifth one coming soon. I went to the one in Scarborough near the Maine Mall where these beautiful young ladies met me at the door with their wonderful smiles. With my camera always around me neck they asked if I was a photographer, I answered yes and of course needed to prove it. They moved in close together while I shot this at 1/13th second at ISO 3200, handheld.
And, what was the restaurant experience like? Well, my waiters name was Ben, did a great job and earned a substantial tip from this poor man. The food was awesome. I splurged and ordered the evening special: shrimp and scallops in a creamy red/white sauce with mashed potatoes and glazed carrots. I also added a cup of clam chowder. Almost licked the sauce off the plate but kept my cool and didn’t embarrass myself. Needless to say I had no room for dessert. But, I can go back for that.

A place by himself
Sometimes I like to find a place where I’m pretty much by myself, like this young man. It was a warm and sunny day in Portland, Maine, so we took the bus from our hotel down to the port area. The bus depot is next to Monument Square where this young man found some solitude among the crowd at the base of the statue. Hope you’ve had a good day!

Green Doors
Walked the streets of Portland, Maine today. Love visiting this port town. There was a cruise ship in port so the streets were busy with sightseeing visitors. With it being beautiful day and a weekend we also had the locals out. I found these green doors and just had to take a few snaps. I used my Nikon 18-200mm VR lens today rather than the 35mm f1.8 I’ve been using almost exclusively. Wow, what a difference between those two lens. The color on the 35mm is so much nicer. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Brisk Walk
Talking a walk on a bright sunny but cold Sunday afternoon.
