    Mother and Daughter

    At Frog Pond
    At Frog Pond

I needed some space and quiet today so I headed for Inniswood Gardens. It wasn’t the quiet I wanted as they were busy working on some of the park.  A Bobcat was whirling around and a saw was whirring through timber. Not to be turned down I ventured deeper into the wooded area on the path to find the quiet. Ahhh! On the way back to the car I discovered this mother and daughter at the Frog Pond. They are looking a two turtles sun bathing on a log just below them. You can see the larger of the two turtles just to the left of the yellow flower and its reflection. I like how the young girl is telling her mom something and using her arms to add emphasis to her story. Yes, I know it’s pretty harsh light but I like the image.

    Hotel Time

    Hotel Time

Hotel time. As with many who travel with their work, we can find ourselves spending some alone time in our hotel rooms. As I have written about before the desk in our rooms can be a place to relax, journal, read and find quiet time. On this trip I brought along my laptop because of my recurrent training and study.

    The Breakfast Meeting

    The Breakfast Meeting
    The Breakfast Meeting

I’ve heard it said that breakfast is one of our most important meals of the day and if it includes a business meeting that may be even truer. Mentors have shown me how quiet meditation in the morning will be the most important meeting of my day. When I miss that meeting or fail to be awake for it, my choices and thoughts throughout the day do not have as positive effect on the world around me. Hope you had a good meeting this morning.

    A Comfortable Chair

    Comfortable Chair
    Comfortable Chair

I have a comfortable chair in my bedroom where I can read, pray and meditate in quiet. With the busy world around us we need to find those places of quiet. Creating my sanctuary requires I spend the time alone, I’m quiet and not doing anything that busies my mind and I do my best to relax. This is my sanctuary.
