A few years ago I began to notice benches. I had one month were I posted an image of a bench I took on that day. Benches are everywhere and are in every imaginable shape, color, size and location. And, comfort will vary just about every one of them. Just as interesting as the benches are the people who sit on them or stand beside them. This image was taken in Daytona Beach.

    Wandering the streets…

My work has shifted my photography. I now find myself wandering the streets for images more than wandering country/mountain roads in search of open scenics. I drove to a small town north of here called Delaware, Ohio. Small little college town with a coffee shop called The Mean Bean. The mocha was okay and I enjoyed the ambiance. I found these mail boxes just down the street and was called by the patterns and colors. I’m curious what the differences are between the two suites and the rear unit. 🙂

    See My Shoes

While strolling the mall I came across this young man and these wonderfully bright tennis shoes. I just had to ask permission to take a photo and of course anyone wearing these shoes would not object to having a photo taken.

    Red Doors

    The Broadway Pub

I am drawn to doors but in this image it the color red that calls out. I find doors with bright colors calling out my name and when they are tall and narrow, I stop to take some photos. However, the red of the doors, the red striped awning, the red sign in the window and the red lamps are what make this image have its power for me. I like the shadows across the sidewalk and the reflection in the window. When you add the customers in the window it all makes for a cool street scene.

    Granville Streets

    Downtown Granville

One of my coworkers lives in the small New-England style Village of Granville, Ohio and suggested I visit the town sometime. Well today was the sometime. We had clear skies and cold temperatures so felt a drive over there was the order for the day. After having my car serviced I headed for Granville which is located about 15 miles from Columbus along Highway 161. The above image was taken on the main street of the older part of town. Just behind me is the intersection of Broadway and Main. Each corner of the intersection was a church. It reminded my of the fact this country was founded and settled with Christian roots.

    The Guys

So what do you suppose they are talking a bout? Maybe they are a bit embarrassed and just turning away. It was an unusual scene so why not.
