    Shadows on the Snow
    Shadows on the Snow

After several days of cold weather we’ve had a couple of warmer days which is now melting our snow. This past Sunday afternoon I got my laundry done, did some writing and reading and took a short walk. A simple day.

    It’s Cold This Morning

    Bicyclists on Campus
    Bicyclists on Campus

We are cold this morning, -6 at 6:49 am. The sun is shining and we have clear blue skies. I took this image of the bicyclists at about 7:30 as I walked into the Lory Student Center on campus. I find it amazing the courage they have to ride in the cold, snow and icy conditions. Not me! Young people in Colorado don’t seem to mind the cold but I do. That, or I’m a bit wiser. 🙂

“I didn’t go to kindergarten, so I missed ‘show and tell’ when I was young. I’m making up for it now! I look for essence of the subject and try to show it in a different way, whether it’s Antarctica or a monarch butterfly…” – George Lepp

Monday, first day of the week

    Poudre River in Winter
    Poudre River in Winter

Every day, priests minutely examine the Law
    And endlessly chant complicated sutras.
Before doing that, though, they should learn
How to read the love letters sent by the wind and rain,
    The snow and moon.

Cloudy and overcast skies this morning. Looking and feeling like winter, probably because it is. A few snowflakes could be seen on my walk to the bus stop. I thought, sorry, there I go again thinking, I could add to the wintery mood if I converted this image to black and white. They, those weather guys, say we are only going to reach the low 20’s today. I’ve decided to NOT wear my sandals, so my biggest decision for the day has been made. I’m now at the Lory Student Center to read and write. Will meet a good friend for brunch later. Have a super Awesome week!

    Lost Horizon

Fog and light snow at Lake Loveland
Fog and light snow at Lake Loveland

This image is from 2011 and was taken on the west side of Lake Loveland. The fog and light snow created a scene with seemingly no horizon. It is a simple image that I converted to black and white. Our weather forecast is for a 30% chance of light rain and snow both today and Monday. Right we’re at 17 degrees and overcast skies. Hope your having a great weekend.

    Calling My Attention

    An Empty Bench
    An Empty Bench

I took this image last Sunday morning during our little snow storm. We received about 4-5 inches and still have some on the ground as temperatures have been staying cold. Directly behind and across the street is a student housing building where Mugs coffeehouse is located.  After my morning mocha I walked over to campus to enjoy the falling snow, to get in a bit of exercise and possibly find an image. I have several images of this bench, finding it’s solitude calling my attention. I cannot remember ever seeing anyone sitting on this bench. However, today it’s pretty obvious why it’s empty.
