“A single conversation across the table with a wise man is better than ten years mere study of books.”
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
This is one of those images where I grabbed another small table similar and used it as a tripod to take this image in one of the back rooms of Java Central. It was one of those images begging to be converted to black and white.

Coffee shop kind of day Monte. The best I did today was also one a lot like this. Great shot and sentiment. Posted mine as well. 🙂

And, your image looks inviting as well. I like how we can carry these big guns around when sometimes all we need is a derringer.

I agree! The lines and shadows are perfect for b&w. I have to ask though.. was the flower red? 😉
Monte Stevens
The flower was made of newspaper. 🙂 Each table had a different flower and different vase. There must have been 8 tables in this room.

Nice shot Monte and the perfect title to go with it. BTW, I like that newspaper flower.

As I was taking this image a young couple from the college walked in to the room and laughed at me. They laughed because the young girl was taking a photography class and had taken the same image last week for a school assignment.

Excellent choice in going black and white and I’ll echo the sentiment of the quote being perfect. Have a wonderful weekend, Monte!

Thanks, Earl and have a wonderful weekend, also. Stay warm!
