Met my friend Larry for lunch this past week and, yes I have two of them. Larry has been into photography for many years with a love for film photography. Needless to say lunch lasted a good three hours. He was given a digital camera but prefers to use his 4×5 or 8×10 on a tripod that weights as much as his car. He does pull out his phone camera and take a quick snap shot every once in a while (new granddaughter). He took this image while playing with my X-E1 and using the Velvia film simulation. It’s straight out of the camera.

When I first saw the headline and the photo my head said, “gee, Larry looks just like Monte, they could be brothers!” Doh!
Another nice portrait, even if it isn’t exactly a Selfie. 🙂
Ive got a rental X-T1 coming next week and am looking forward to sampling the Fuji goodness.

I’ll be interested in hearing what you think. If money was available I’d have one.

If I decide to dump all my Canon gear to buy one you’ll know I liked it. It’s going to take a lot to convince me to do that, as much as I like the files from my 5D. But I feel like if any camera was going to convince me to move that is probably the one. I’m sure I’ll have some posts about it! 😉

That guy does bear a striking resemblance to our dear friend, Monte, doesn’t he Tom??? 🙂

Admit it Paul. I’m better looking.

Nice pic there Monte, or should I say: Cool Dude yo.
If I’d managed to sell my gear when I had it on the market, the Fuji X-E2 was one of the cameras I would have considered as a replacement. I really like their rendering.

I can see a good setup for me to be the X-T1 and the X-E1 (or X-E2). If I could choose three lens it would be the 35mm f1.4, the 18-55mm f2.8-4.0 and the new 50-140mm f2.8. Happy camper! The only time I shoot raw is with my D300 for landscapes. The X-E1 is always in fine jpg. You need one!
