I frequently tell Kathy that driving in town might not be so bad once we stop needing to drive at the worst times, but the city is still the city. And I imagine that you aren’t too used to it in Fort Collins, which makes the difference even more noticeable. Regarding wisdom, I find that my kids seem to think I get wiser as I get older, and the people older than me – except for the few who are grumpy – tend to have a lot of wisdom too. I think it may have something to do with focusing on the important things when we’re together and filtering out a lot of the distractions we deal with when we are separated. And there is something to be said for our own wisdom making us more receptive to theirs. 😉 Sounds like you are having a good sabbatical.

Your comment caused me to realize how my children and grandchildren will always provide opportunities for my growth, something I’m grateful for. Yes, I’m enjoying the sabbatical. Have eaten too much but no one has forced me.
No, I’m not as accustomed to the heavy and fast driving I’m experiencing on these interstate highways.
