We awoke to light snow yesterday morning then watched it increase to a beautiful winter snowfall. I left home early to find a spot near a window at Mugs coffeehouse to watch it snow. Glad I did. When I left an hour and a half later I walked across the street to the oval on campus for this image. Very few people were out due to the weather and it was Martin Luther King Day so there were almost no tracks in the snow. It stayed cold all day even though the sun came out in the afternoon. It was 2 degrees at 6:30 this morning. Brrrr!

You call this LIGHT snow? 😀 It is lovely, though. We are expecting to have a dusting of snow tonight – UP TO 1/2 inch. Now _that_ is LIGHT snow, sir! 🙂

I saw that forecast. Thought you were getting used to the cold and the snow. I guess we consider 1-3 inches a dusting in Colorado. Stay warm and drive safely.

Drive? Is that possible when there’s a forecast of snow, let alone actual snow??? 😀

LOL Man do we live in different worlds!

It’s a beautiful scene…best viewed for short periods before returning to somewhere warm, I believe. 🙂

I love the snow but do not like the cold that comes with it. Yes, there is a real beauty to freshly fallen snow.

As Paul indicated, we shut down over just the threat of snow! Charlotte schools have already cancelled classes for tomorrow. Kathy & I are fortunate to be able to work from home. No point in wasting a vacation day due to snow!
Beautiful scene, Monte. Doubtful that we’ll see anything like it here, but you never know!

But as I said, along with snow comes to cold. Clear skies tonight so temperatures down to -4 degrees, making to a two blanket night.

Beautiful photo Monte. These southerners need more exposure to snow so they can see all the visual opportunities it can bring to get them outside. 🙂

So right, Mark!
