“One must give himself completely to his art and not hold back. Throw caution to the wind. Embrace the muse. Make love to your art.” ― Harley King
So if writers sit at the computer with their muse and write, then why can’t the muse walk beside the photographers? Muse may not be the word for some and would rather use words such as inspiration or vision. But, some voice within will ask us to look through our viewfinders at a specific, decisive moment. It think it’s best when we listen to that voice.

Currently my muse is on vacation and I can’t seem to get in touch with her. Yours, evidently, is doing fine.

Ken, I get postcards every once in a while from her. But, I smile as it may be that I’m not paying attention to her so those postcards are her way of getting my attention. 🙂

Perhaps it is that we are listening so intently for that voice, that guide, that we miss opportunities and when we forget to listen, that’s when we notice. Hmmmm. 🙂

I like that viewpoint as I’ve looked at it from the perspective of listening to my self-inflated ego rather than the muse. Thanks, Paul! I need comments from friends like you.

Like Paul said, it’s not always easy to differentiate the muse’s voice from the usual noise that goes on in our heads.
Your photo is so much like the kind I would make that I think our muses could well be related 😉

Probably cousins. 🙂

So, I wonder…are there only positive voices in everyone’s heads.
Are there times when the voices tell us, “no there’s nothing of interest there” and should we listen or ignore in that case.
Perhaps I just have too many voices in my head. 😉
Good photo, Monte! Have a good Thanksgiving!

I think we need to discern the voices we hear as some are not from my creative muse. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Quite often my muse seems to like speaking in a foreign language just to toy with me I think.
Monte Stevens
That is the worst scenario as we can hear it but not understand it.
