This is the view from my parents front porch in Gold Canyon, Arizona. They enjoy their home and I can see why.

That is hauntingly beautiful country out there, and you’ve got to love those clear skies. Gold Canyon looks from the map to be an ideal location…close enough to the city but not too close. We have friends who just signed a contract on a place in Oracle Junction, which is about an hour southeast of you. They’re trying to talk us into it, but I just accepted a new job offer today so it looks like we’ll be staying put for a little while longer. 🙂

Congratulations on the new job!!! I know nothing about Oracle Junction. If it’s near Tucson then It’s probably a good location to buy. One thing they do have down here, besides the heat, are some pretty fantastic sunrises and sunsets, with and without clouds. I’m staying in Surprise and it has a completely different feel to it than Gold Canyon. To me, Gold Canyon has a more laid back feel to it then Surprise. For some people that’s what they want. Gold Canyon, at least for the present time, requires you to travel farther for shopping, it’s a more rural area. And, those Superstition Mountains are awesome!

How could anywhere named “Surprise”, have a laid back feel to it, Monte? 😉 Love the view from the porch, though not the heat so much!

I’ve always loved the sound of “Superstition Mountains.” I’m sure they live up to what I imagine when I hear that name.

They are majestic but a very rugged looking place. They were not what I imagined the first time I saw them. I hope you have an opportunity to see and explore them.

Beautiful!
