Monte, any clue as to what type butterfly this is. I couldn’t identify it. Maybe you know local species better. I even thought at first it might be a moth but moths usually don’t hold/fold their wings in this position. In any case, beautiful!

My guess is a Coral Hairstreak. We have them all over the place out here.

I think that’s it. From the photos, the orange markings match…in your photo it looks a much lighter color but that could be a trick of the light. 🙂

One of my favorite little butterflies, and great quote from Guy. He certainly has a way of communicating what we all internalize, but rarely are able to put words to it.
