Longs Peak in the distance

Took the bus this morning to coffee and also to drop off my ballot at the drop box located on campus. Taking the bus is much easier than driving and finding a place to pay to park. I also need the walking. I took this image as I stepped off the bus. It has been several weeks since we have been able to see Longs Peak due to the smoke from the fires. A cold front brought in high winds yesterday that cleared the air, blew leaves into Kansas and also brought much needed moisture to the Cameron Peak fire. More wind is predicted for today, both a curse and a blessing. It was nice to not smell smoke this morning.

Not all leaves ended up in Kansas

I’ll bet it was nice to see that view of the mountains, if only for a few hours. Falling leaves are one of the downsides of fall, as they often seem to end up in the wrong places. 😉

Last week I stood by and watched leaves fall off a maple 🍁 tree that’s bare naked today. It doesn’t take long. It’s windy again as more leaves are blowing east.

Kansas called, they’re rejecting receipt of Colorado leaves and are marking them return to sender. 😉

I’m glad you are getting a break from the smoke. I know it’s nice to be able to confirm the distant peaks are still there. We’re still officially residents of Florida and returned our mail-in ballots two weeks ago.

Sorry, Earl, to get you involved but I give them your number if there were any problems.

Today looks like another nice day. They’ve had snow on tge fires allowing them to take advantage of the time. Glad to hear you have voted but sorta figured you’d be one of the first.

I’m betting seeing that peak is a welcome site indeed! Congrats on checking voting off the list and early. We did so last week and confirmed our ballots were received. This is my first year ever doing absentee.
