Chatty Magpie

Good morning. Had a short night of sleep with lots of commentary going on in my head. It also could have been from the sugar coated cookie (well more than one) I ate couple of hours before bed. Made a chai latte this morning then headed to Pineridge NA to watch the sunrise. Had this rather chatty magpie join me to watch the sunrise. They were quite comfortable with me even when I stepped closer and moved to the side more so I could put the sunrise behind them. They posed for about a half dozen photos, jabbering almost the whole time. Wondering if I was moving too slow for them. 😁

Drove home realizing this may be the last bit of sunshine over the next 2-3 days. Weather app said we could see 15-25 inches, or more, of snow from this approaching storm beginning later today and into Saturday. When I hear things like that, I feel the need to put on a crockpot of Mild Yellow Curry Chicken and will have some tikka masala rice with it later this afternoon. Have a wonderful day!

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku/poetry. Have a love for fountain pens.

We don’t have magpies here (I don’t think) but we have plenty of mockingbirds. They love to chatter on constantly!

I’ve been watching your weather while enjoying the mild sunshine here. Quite a contrast as I think about grilling steak tomorrow. Although your chicken sounds awfully good!

Yes, the mockingbirds can chatter. The weather reports continue to change as they attempt to predict what to expect. I’m just expecting it to be a mess and will stay home and watch it all happen. Hoping people are preparing for it and will stay safe at home.

Lovely photo of your willing subjects. They must have enjoyed your company too. I can’t imagine all that snow but your dinner plan sounds delicious. Stay safe and warm.

Yes, the chicken curry turned out good, again. Tweaked this time by adding a red bell pepper and zucchini the last hour. Have leftover to last out this storm. Enjoy your lovely day!

No chinook winds, my friend. A bit of rain last night, overcast skies this morning. I checked the status of this storm and it looks like anywhere from 1 to 4 feet of snow, wet snow. Thankfully, we are not going to have frigid cold with it. That much snow will cause some damage to trees, older buildings, bu the biggest impact will be in burn areas from the fires we had this past summer. Mudslides, rocks slides and a lot of debri in the rivers. I think I’m okay here.

I did stop by the grocery store this morning on my way home to invest two more dollars in my retirement fund (lottery ticket) and the shelves were empty all over the store. 😁
