sun casts long blue shadows
a canvas of snow
I love the art of light and the shadows. Scenes like this are the reason I carry a camera with me almost all the time. I took this a week ago as I stepped out my front door. However, today looks much different. Snow moved in yesterday afternoon and continued through the night. Today the sun is nowhere to be seen and therefore neither are shadows. It is presently 9 degrees and we have at least 6 inches of snow. It’s a snow day. I will probably spend much of the day in this chair. Stay warm.

I love this – the smoothness in the lower right, the feeling of movement in the center, and the dimples in the upper third. Beautiful!

Thanks, Faye. I liked it as soon as I saw it. Feels like I came home with what I saw.

It’s a beautiful photo, Monte. It sounds like a good day for hot chocolate. Stay warm!

Thanks, Earl. I started the day with a hot chai tea. I’ve already eaten twice and it’s only 9:30 am. Probably gain 2-3 pounds today.

The diagonal lines separating the two distinct textures…very nice! Might be interesting in B&W, but the blue shadows emphasize the feeling of cold. Brrrr! Hope you have plenty of coffee and oatmeal!

I will give it a try in black and white, now that you mention it.
Yep, got the coffee, chocolate, peanut butter, and Irish Oats. Think I’m set. Heard from a friend 2 miles west of me and she has 12 inches. I only see 6-8 inches here. But, it is cold. in both places
