Plain and simple. It has a grip on me. I want to work on creating images that move me and hopefully others, even if that’s only one other person. I find myself looking for images where ever I am: the grocery store, driving, walking, flying, and the list goes on. Everything has the potential to be a subject for me: the handle on a dresser, a lamp post, a sunrise or sunset, a rose, a portrait. They’re everywhere, all around us. It’s amazing how many times I have found myself going out the door of my apartment (or hotel room), camera over my shoulder, and not knowing where I’m headed. All I know is that somewhere in front of me is a photograph, one that I will enjoy in it’s creation. I love photography.

No, really, Monte, how do you feel about photography? 😉
I’m of the opinion that photography, as with many other pleasure giving activities, can become addictive. It’s not a bad addiction, as long as you’re not neglecting other duties to photograph or buy equipment.
Beautiful image!

Thanks, Earl!

……and it shows.

Thanks, Don and I hope it does.

Sometimes I think I should broaden my horizons a bit and try some different subject matter. I have always wanted to explore a junkyard. Great sentiments Monte.

Thanks, Mark. I think you have something there: What would each of us find in a junkyard? And, how would a couple of days shooting in one change us?

Monte,
We all have that “photo bug”. I do for sure.
I was really into photography several years ago, before digital, and shot countless Youth Sports activities and other subjects. Then I stopped. I don’t know why??
Then I recently picked it up again, and I can’t describe how much I enjoy it, and don’t think I will ever stop. Sure, the impulse to buy new equipment can easily make you go bankrupt without control, but I’ve learned to keep and accept the equipment I have and use it to it’s potential. Would I want another lens or two, sure I would.
You do have a photographic gift, and it shows in your photos, your feelings and stories. I for one always enjoy reading your stories. Don’t ever stop.

Right on, Alan!

What more needs to be said, Monte? Lovely photograph there, ideal for hanging above near the dining room table, or perhaps behind the couch. I’m renewing my love of photography all over again, both film and digital.

Man, we gotta get together and stop talking about getting together. Lunch or dinner or coffee. We can invite Earl or if he doesn’t come along, we can talk about him. 🙂

Monte,
A get together would be awesome. We could all meet up somewhere.
If you’re ever in Manchester, NH, Boston, MA or TF Greene in RI, let me know. Maybe we could meet up at an Internet Cafe, LOL.

We do have overnights in Manchester. I don’t have any scheduled for next month but when I do, and they are long enough, I will give you a shout.

Monte,
Sounds like a plan.
Thanks, Alan

Good. I’ll let you know when I have a long enough overnight there.
