Canvas Prints

Our friend, Earl, suggested in one of his comments on the posting of this image back on January 20th to maybe print and frame it. I rarely print my images. But after thinking about this I decided a canvas print would suffice for my needs. Plus, I have never made a canvas print of one of my images. So, I stepped out of my comfort zone and ordered this image and a second one on canvas.

In September I posted this image taken at the Arapaho Bend Natural Area. I chose this as the second image because it is darker and carries a different mood so I could see the difference between the two. Both canvas prints were made by Fine Art America. These are my first ever canvas prints. If I ever make more canvas prints I would like more details in the shadows and highlights. Earl, also mentioned using a floating frame which I really like but the cost was a bit more. Maybe next time.

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku/poetry. Have a love for fountain pens.

Wow, the canvas prints look fantastic, Monte! In the last year, I’ve had a couple of my photographs printed on canvas to hang up, and I didn’t realize how much I would enjoy seeing them every day. I’m sure you will appreciate seeing these as well!

I did one of my printed canvas photos with a floating frame and the other without. I like the floating frame so much that I’ve researched and found a company that cuts the frame pieces for you, and you assemble them and mount the canvas print. They also have sample frame corners to help you choose what looks best. I ordered a floating frame kit for my other canvas print and will receive it this next week. Unless it turns out awful, I’ll post on the process with all the details after I finish. HaHa! 😉

    Have a great weekend!

Thanks, Earl. I’m pleased with them both but will do things differently next time. Look at that, I’m already planning another print! I looked into getting a floating frame but not ready to spend that sort of money yet. I will forward to your report and experience with the kit. Have a wonderful weekend!

Beautiful! I have three canvas prints and I’m very pleased with how they look; much better than a traditional framed print under glass.
