A Favorite Spot

This is an image of one of my favorite spots at Morgan Library to write. I usually arrive at the library around 7:20 then grab a mocha latte at the small coffee shop. For exercise I then walk up stairs to the third floor and over to the east wing.  So somewhere around 7:40 I’m sitting at one of the four tables outside the conference rooms.

I have with me my journal, two fountain pens (Lamy Logo in Pearl), my Kindle Paperwhite, maybe a book, my camera and an extra lens. It’s quiet. I love the light. It’s a favorite spot.

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku/poetry. Have a love for fountain pens.

I think you have a great collection of journaling photos going here Monte.

BTW, how often are your fingers stained with ink? I am finding it a common thing with this fountain pen use! 🙂 Maybe I am not doing something right.

Thanks, Mark. You should not be having ink on your fingers unless there is a problem with the pen or you’re changing inks. I would suggest looking at the nib and feeder to make sure they are seated correctly. You may also check to see there are no cracks where the feeder and nib fit into the grip. You may check that the ink cartridge is seated correctly. Goulet Pens has some videos on maintenance and cleaning of pens that also may give you some ideas.

Having a comfortable place or routine is wonderful…creates calmness somewhat like meditation. That’s a problem with this lifestyle…external comfortable places if found are soon left behind and there are only limited locations in the coach. 🙂

I always like your journal and pen photos!

I’ve always wondered about that in this lifestyle you three are living. Never thought about it but is Maggie getting enough of that, needing more time apart from you two? 🙂 Thanks, Brooks!

Bonnie would tell you that we don’t leave Maggie alone enough and I would agree. We’ve definitely got conflict with Maggie and this lifestyle at the moment. Especially with her being scared to travel in the truck. We’re relocating today and at our next location we’re going to make a Vet. appointment to try and eliminate any physical causes. We may have to back off our travel plans this year and sort this out. We’re not sure we’ll get out west again this year….5-6k miles of driving with a terrified 70lb dog is no fun. ;-(

I feel for you guys. It can be tough dealing with a person or animal whom we are unable to communicate fully with. I follow a couple of people who are making the RV life a full time adventure. One couple have both a dog and cat in a 40′ Motorhome. I will be interested in hearing what a vet will be able to diagnose and suggest for you.I find this interesting even as someone who has no pets, just pet peeves. 🙂
