Well, it’s a new week. Seems like each week flies by faster. A friend gave me a copy of Outdoor magazine which was directed towards black and white landscapes. While reading one article I remembered a series of images I made of sunrises at Arapahoe Bend and Prospect Ponds nature areas. I was stirred to see what they looked like in black and white. After about an hour this is one of the images. Hope everyone has A Good Week.

I like this in b&w, Monte. It gives a whole new look to things doesn’t it and that’s the magic of digital photography we can go back and experiment.
I hope you week is great as well. 🙂

Thanks, Earl. Converting to black and white is some of the “magic” of the digital darkroom. For me it has also helped me envision it in the field, looking at tones and light, rather than just color.

B&W is magical. It gives people the opportunity to fill in the color blanks mentally and it suddenly becomes what each individual wants it to me. Me, I’ll stick with the B&W image in my head. Great image Monte!

I’m a big fan of B&W landscapes too. You’ve done a good job with this image Monte.

I am leaning more and more towards the black and white image. I’ve felt that way with street scenes and portraits for a while now. It’s a bit newer feel for landscapes. Color was always an attractor for me.
